tales of the little blue bug

and that’s it
that’s all it needed
the little blue bug
it crawled out of it’s
skin
into another
shedding along
every whisker
it breathed through
every mole on its
hurt
every limb that
seem paralyzed
just a day ago

the little blue bug
it had found
a new home
maybe a little
too
soon
said the bug’s
imagination
‘or not’
slipped in
reality

the new home
it was unplanned
it embraced
the blue bug
without questions
without
expectations
without
worrying the bug
that maybe-
this time-
it would have
to shift out
too soon
for it was not
of the color
its usual mates
have been

oh,
dear little
blue bug
I know you’re
ailing
and failing

at keeping up
with all these keys
you have
dangling
down your
insecurities

all these beds
that need to feel
your skin against
their springs
and

all these mats
you’ve never
stepped onto
for the fear
of leaving behind
specks
of your thoughts

but-

atleast
you have
a home
now
a hotel room
a one night stand
a roof over your chest

a tarpaulin that
hides your tears within
its own blue wings

with a postcode
that reads
‘I can give
you the number of
my shrink;
he’s helped
me get through
the past four years.
He’s good.’

you’re safe
in this
new home
oh little
blue bug
you’re safe

and wanted

and you
know what?
this new home
doesn’t
even care
if you have too
much body hair
